Prof. Obi Berko Damoah is a seasoned strategy consultant and academic, holding a PhD in Strategic Management (Wales, UK), an MBA in Corporate Strategy and Economic Policy (Netherlands), an MPhil in Finance, and a BSc Administration in Accounting (Ghana). He is affiliated with leading international academic bodies, including the British Academy of Management (UK), the Academy of International Business (USA), and the Academy of Management (USA).

With over two decades of multidisciplinary experience, he has led and supported numerous institutional development and strategy engagements. His expertise spans advanced business planning, strategic management, project management, and sector strategy formulation. He has served as a team leader and associate consultant on feasibility studies, business diagnostics, and investment facilitation assignments, supporting microfinance institutions in securing licensing from the Bank of Ghana and enhancing value chain integration across various sectors.

He has contributed significantly to enterprise development programs under initiatives such as Ghana’s Trade and Investment Programme, the Rural Enterprise Development Project, and AGOA. His work includes developing business plans for SMEs in the textiles and apparel sector, capacity building, and entrepreneurship training.

His consulting focus includes strategic planning, feasibility studies, institutional capacity building, and training. He also delivers training in business skills and provides guidance in post-retrenchment transitions, including programs such as those offered to the Ghana Water Company Limited.

He has participated in the appraisal and capacity building of Oikocredit clients, as well as evaluation assignments for institutions like the Presbyterian Lay Training Centre. His portfolio includes compliance reviews of UNDP Partner MFIs, a reassessment of the UNDP MicroStart Project, and a nationwide survey on Ghana’s payment systems.

Prof. Damoah has consulted for a diverse client base including MSMEs, MFIs, government entities, and international organizations. These include: the Ministry of Trade, Amalgamated Bank Limited, ILO, Agona West Municipal Assembly, UNIDO, UNHCR, FAO, ARB Apex Bank, GTZ, SPEED Ghana, APDF, DANIDA, IFC/Newmont Ghana Gold Limited (NGGL), and the Women Consultative Committee (WCC) in the Ahafo Mine Area.

Through these varied engagements, he brings exceptional cross-sectoral insight and a deep, hands-on understanding of institutional transformation.
